An insurance agent does a lot of work to verify a quote.  Why, because he or she has to be accurate.  Of course, the quote is based on the information you provide.  Does the agent order reports?  NO, not before he has an appointment to write the policy.  The reports cost money and the agent would be foolish to order them prior to writing a policy.

Yea, you should know whats on the report, its your record.

If you decide to purchase the policy the agent has already done 75% of his or her work.

Why am I writing about this?

Well, some people will make an agent jump through hoops for a quote.  That agent won’t be paid for his time if the prospect goes elsewhere.

Be considerate, after all the agent has your best interest at heart.  If you make an appointment to write the policy don’t go out and continue to shop for a better price.  You should only set your appointment for insurance after you have already shopped and made your decision.

Be professional as you expect the agent .

If you have any questions or concerns contact your agent or this author.
