Invitation to ask California Insurance questions.
I have not written a post in a couple of months, not because I’m on vacation or ill, but because I haven’t received any questions about insurance from my viewers.

That’s right, you can take care of your DMV needs from your home on your computer. Well, most of them.
So, 24/7 from anywhere you have a computer you can contact the California DMV for services.
First thing to do is talk to your insurance agent to determine if you have the right coverage for your risk, (car, home or ?). Once you determine what coverage is needed adjustments should be made to meet your budget.
Suppose your insured car is not covered for collision, and you are hit by an uninsured driver.
A lot of Californians know that it’s against the law to drive and talk on the cell phone without a hands free device. But, a lot of Californians don’t know that it became a law on January 1, 2009 that you cannot text on the phone while driving.
What is it?
Example: Your driving on the highway and you are involved in an accident.
Your car is damaged and now you have no transportation.
Auto collision covers losses due to collision with another car or object. If you have a claim due to collison the insurance company will pay to repair or replace your vehicle (less your deductible). Collision coverage will pay to repair or replace your vehicle regardless of fault.
Comprehensive covers your car or motorcycle in case of damage by fire, theft, vandalism, earthquake and falling objects. Comprehensive covers the cost to repair your vehicle. Keep in mind, you will have to pay a deductible; the insurance company will pay the remainder.
California law requires that Uninsured and Underinsured motorist coverage must be offered with every car policy issued in this state.
The coverage is not required and if you don’t want it you have to sign a waiver excluding it.
