Comprehensive covers your car or motorcycle in case of damage by fire, theft, vandalism, earthquake and falling objects.  Comprehensive covers the cost to repair your vehicle.  Keep in mind, you will have to pay a deductible; the insurance company will pay the remainder. 

In a total loss of your vehicle the insurance company will pay the actual cash value less your deductible.

Comprehensive coverage does not inclue wear and tear, mechanical or engine failure.

Comprehensive and collision coverage may be required when financing a vehicle.
