Winter is here, so below I will list some tips to ensure a good experience when calling Roadside Assistance.

  • Know how many miles your tow service will take you.  If it’s only 7 miles, know that as you will be responsible to pay the difference beyond the miles afforded by the tow service.
  • How long will it take until the tow truck arrives?  Usually, 45 minutes or less.  If the roads are jammed because of rain or snow expect a longer wait.  Also, the customer service representative should give you an idea.
  • Stay with the vehicle.  You should always stay with your vehicle as long as it’s in a safe location.   If you leave, the tow truck may leave…
  • What’s the trouble?  Be as specific as you can be when calling Roadside Assistance.  Do you have a flat tire or the car won’t start.  The customer service representative needs to know the trouble so that the tow truck is equipped to handle your problem.

I hope my tips help and make a hectic situation less confusing.
