Most insurance companies will say no. But, there are several companies that will insure you.

This situation comes up when someone needs to have a car, but has no credit. So, for financial reasons, they will buy a car in someone else’s name and have the need to insure it. The person who owns the car is not the driver and they do not have possession of the vehicle.

The registered owner would have to be named, excluded or added to the policy.

We can insure a person in this situation, but again, you would need to talk to a broker who can place you with an insurance company that allows this exception.
